Bio

Dr. Rhonda L. Gibbs has been in ministry since 1982. She has traveled all 50 states and to several countries throughout the world. Dr. Rhonda’s initials are R.L.G., which also stand for her favorite way of being introduced as one who “really loves God” and being a follower of Christ. Being a follower of Christ is a challenge for her. It is a challenge to live holy. It is a challenge to love the unlovely; and it is a challenge to put Jesus Christ first in all she does. The blessing has and continues to be her willingness to take on that challenge.

Dr. Rhonda was raised in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. She was a graduated of Hickory High School, where some of her best days were spent playing Varsity basketball as a freshman. She received many awards for her athletic skills. Even today she enjoys taking the day off just to play basketball.

Dr. Rhonda also played Varsity basketball and Varsity Tennis for the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Playing competitive sports helped her understand the importance of education, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Dr. Rhonda graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Rhetoric Communication, with a minor in Psychology and Religion from the University of Pittsburgh. She is also a graduate of Oral Roberts University, earning two degrees, a Masters of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry, with a focus on Bi-Cultural Youth.

Dr. Rhonda has been a college professor for 5 years, and she was on the National Youth Ministry Team of the Church of God (Anderson, IN). This gave her an opportunity to expand her teaching gifts to youth and youth workers. She has written various youth curriculum, youth workers articles, and her first book of a series entitled, “Things That Make U Go Hmmm… Book #1-Insecurities,” in 2004, Book #2 Marriage From A Single Perspective in 2006, a Biography of Abelean Lewis Hinton, “From the Cotton Fields to the College Walls in 2008, and is working on Book #3 in her series, “A Gift From My Father . . . Confidence.”

Dr. Rhonda is also a saxophonist. She was inspired by 9/11 to play her saxophone in all 50 states. Her tour was completed in May 2007 in New York City at Ground Zero, at which she produced her first video “A God Bless America” Video of her tour.
Dr. Rhonda has been a Tennis Professional since 1982 and she really enjoys teaching tennis to children, youth, and adults. Presently she resides in Pleasanton, California and works for Club Sport Valley Vista in Walnut Creek, California.
